WORKSHOPS “FAR FROM HOME, OR A SHORT INTRODUCTION TO THE HISTORY OF MIGRATION”
Because there are so many doubts concerning the problem of migration and understanding or mostly a lack of understanding of this phenomenon both on a European and a global scale, we have become involved in education about the subject. To dispel doubts, to understand, to act, to live a good life in accordance with our understanding of humanity.
We have prepared workshops which are the introduction to the history of migration. We provide a historical outline, reflecting on what we owe to migration, what its threats are, and what is needed to be known in order to form an independent opinion on this matter.
CLASSES ARE DIVIDED INTO TWO PARTS
- Multimedia presentation, aimed at introducing the subject and activating the participants.
- Workshop for individual and group workDuring the workshops, we use illustrative and education materials.
The workshops are dedicated to children and adolescents aged 10-15 years.
We have also prepared a proposal for the continuation of the workshops devoted to migration issues in the form of a project. Topics include: films, (not)lost heritage, famous emigrants: musicians, athletes, as well as the economy, and a deeper study of history.
So far, we have held workshops in Łejery and Spark schools in Poznań. All those interested in the subject, including school directors, teachers and children, are welcome to contact us.
